Born to a U.S. Army soldier and his Venetian bride, Jean grew up in Europe and several of the United States, including Hawaii, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, and now Virginia. Being a perpetual “new kid" gave her an inside track to being an outsider, as well as a multitude of interests and experiences.
Jean's articles on the American Civil War period have been published in The New York Times and The Civil War Monitor. Following another scholarly passion, she co-authored with Stuart R. Kaplan The Enyclopedia of Tarot and is author of The Cosmic Tarot book.
She’s worked as a copy writer, copy editor, acquisitions editor, production editor, and graphic artist. She’s also trained warehouse managers in retail distribution. Bringing all the pieces together, she and her husband founded Circling Rivers, an independent publisher of Americana: fiction, poetry, and nonfiction.
She lives in central Virginia with her husband. You can contact her at jeanhuets [at] gmail [dot] com.
